Government hospitals to open at 8 am as before in district
Only offices to be functional from 9 am to 5 pm: Civil Surgeon

All the offices under the District Health Department will open at 9 am and close at 5 pm from July 17 onwards. Sharing the details, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mahesh Kumar said that as per the government instructions, the said schedule is applicable only to the offices. He clarified that there has been no change in the timings of government hospitals in the district. He added that government hospitals will open at 8 am and close at 2 pm as before. These hospitals include District Hospital Mohali, Sub-Divisional Hospital Kharar and Derabassi, Primary Health Centers, Community Health Centers, Sub Centers, Health and Wellness centers, Aam Aadmi Clinics, ESI Hospitals etc. across the district.
The district health department head said that all the offices of the district health department like the civil surgeon office in Mohali and the offices inside the hospitals will now remain operational from 9 am to 5 pm. He also clarified that emergency services in hospitals will continue 24 hours as before. It may also be mentioned here that due to the summer season, the Punjab government had changed the office hours from 2nd May to 15th July from 7-30 am to 2 pm. Notably, the government hospitals” summer timings (April 15 to October 15) are from 8 am to 2 pm while winter timings (October 15 to April 15) are from 9 am to 3 pm every year.
